The Skiers Lounge is now a DaleBoot Ski Boot fitting centre, using the latest 3D measuring technology and our experience in custom boot fitting to produce bespoke ski boots for skiers with difficult feet, through to skiers wanting a comfortable high performance ski boot. Our fitting service is available at our ski boot fitting showroom on the A24 near Horsham, West Sussex, and is by appointment with highly qualified boot fitters with additional training directly from Daleboot CEO and bootfitting wizard Rob Graham.
Daleboot gives you the opportunity to have what is a high performance ski boot – accessible to all levels of skier – combined with perfect fit for comfort.
Aside from the bespoke moulding of the ski boot shell, which is undertaken at the DaleBoot assembly workshop in Kitzbühel to your exact measurements and our instructions based on our assessment and your input, DaleBoot Ski Boots offer further additional advantages over other ski boot brands which are never seen all together on one ski boot:
- Specialist TPU plastics which allow a ski boot shell to stretch AND shrink to create the perfectly moulded ski boot. 3 different durometers of plastic are used to give the perfect feedback through the boot and smooth progressive flex
- A fully adjustable inner base board that allows the ski boot fitter to adjust both the front and rear of the foot as required for more even pressure through the foot
- VFF – Variable Forward Flex – allows us to fine tune your stance in the ski boot increasing or decreasing your forward lean position without impacting the flex strength of the boot
- Independent flex adjustment system, which does not impact the movement between the lower clog and the upper cuff of the ski boot, with 20 step adjustement for fine tuning of the stiffness of your ski boots
- Integrated canting system, allowing us to assess your balance and ski stance during the fitting and make even small adjustments to ensure your skis are as flat as possible on the snow. Now with GripWalk compatible or classic alpine sole options
- An innovative ovelapping “spat” system – the section of plastic over the top of the in-step – can be swapped out for different sizes and individually moulded to suit your specific foot shape needs.
- The liner supplied is a DaleBoot designed Intuition mouldable foam liner with a custom layup of foam and reinforced shin board, or a bespoke ZipFit liner can also be added to the boot order which is also made to Daleboot’s specification and layup
- The Intuition liners are supplied with custom made “J Bars” allowing us to further fine tune the ankle hold in the boot
- You can choose from a range of colour highights for the boot shell, the buckles and the graphics
What can a DaleBoot Ski Boot help with that other ski boots struggle to do?
Different Foot Sizes
Nearly everyone has different foot lengths and widths, and these change when seated or standing. However, for those that have foot differences over 10mm (which is a ski boot size difference) sometimes the only option is 2 pairs of boots to make a pair. With DaleBoot a single size pair of boots can have up to 14mm of length adjustment in them, without having to have invest in 2 pairs of boots, and also keeping the external length of the boots the same so that your skis do not require different binding setups which is not recommended!
The “Most Awkward Feet You Have Ever Seen” & ” No Ski Boots Ever Fit Me” Skiers
The advantage of DaleBoot over other boots is that we can take a scan of your foot and further manual measurements to create a 3D model of your foot, allowing for every unique bump and pressure point on your feet. We can mix upper and lower parts of the boot, so if you have very narrow or very wide calves, we can specify the perfect matching cuff shape for your legs – even if it is different on each leg due to injuries or health related issues. So if you have tried everything and are about to give up on skiing because you cannot get a comfortable ski boot, don’t, because DaleBoot should be able to give you the best chance of success – and comfort.
I am a good skier, so I want a performance ski boot but I also want comfort!
A common request, from retired racers through to the rest of us who may be very good skiers but don’t want that “race ski boot” feeling. With DaleBoot and the variable forward lean and 20 step flex adjustment, we can give you a laterally stiff ski boot for edge hold, but with the comfort that allows you to enjoy high performance skiing without pain.
I have been told I am knock Knee or Bow Legged and that I need Canted Ski Boots
Normally, for canting ski boots to get your feet flat on the ground, options are limited. The normal method is to purchase a race boot (or “plug” boot) and use a router to cut an angle on the soles, and then make soles up to go on the boots to ensure the boots will work with bindings. Other brands offer small adjusting plates that offer some change of angle, but are very fixed in their options. With DaleBoot, we can fit a range of soles that have angle adjustment built in to fine tune your stance, and unlike with race boots, you can still have GripWalk soles for easier in-resort walking.
How Much Does A Pair Of DaleBoots Cost Including Fitting?
A pair of custom made DaleBoot Ski Boots requires 2 appointments – a scanning and measuring appointment, and a follow up fitting and handover appointment.
