Putting your ski boots on correctly – whether custom fitted boots or rental boots can make or break your (comfortable) time on the mountain…

Scott- The Skiers Lounge

There is a correct way to put ski boots on, but very few people are ever shown it. Every ski boot fitting or tweak we undertake in our showroom will be repeatedly shown this process, which ensures that your heels are properly locked back in the ski boot heel, leaving the correct amount of room at the front of the boot. Although this correct method for putting ski boots on cannot overcome an incorrect size or shape ski boot, it will put your foot in the correct position to then check your ski boot is right for you…

We have put together a handy video showing you how to buckle up your ski boots correctly, both for standard 4 buckle alpine ski boots, and 3-piece or “cabrio” style boots such as Dalbello Panterra and Cabrio models, and Full Tilt:

We also give every customer that we fit ski boots to a reminder sheet on how to buckle their ski boots up. This can be downloaded at this link for your personal use.
