We are looking for a workshop manager to manage the day-to-day running of our busy seasonal wintersports workshop and undertake ski and snowboard servicing. This is a full time position for the winter season, normally from September to April, with some agreed summer hours to assist with our monthly training courses

Main purpose of role
To ensure servicing of skis and snowboards to meet customers’ needs and timings is met. Servicing of skis and snowboards to a high standard.

Scott Hargrave – Managing Director

Core Tasks – Workshop
• Maintaining our online calendar to ensure jobs are completed in the correct order
• Answering communications from customers by email, website form, telephone related to workshop jobs
• Servicing of skis and snowboards to a high standard
• Supporting the boot fitting team to adjust ski bindings for new ski boots
• Drilling, installation and set-up of ski bindings
• Helping clients on the showroom floor with queries
• Booking in and handover of servicing work to the client’s needs
• Assisting in the running and presentation of our wintersports technician training courses in the summer months, 1 to 2 a month
• The usual “any additional tasks that colleagues may require support with from time to time”

Experience Required
Ideally someone who has undertaken ski and/or snowboard servicing before either privately or for employment, or transferabe skills such as woodworking may be useful. A passion for wintersports is more important, and full training will be given to the right candidate. If you have not serviced wintersports equipment before, but are adept at woodworking or working with your hands, we often find this is transferable to ski and snowboard servicing. Being able to organise and manage work is key, using computers to manage our diary and advise customers when work is complete

September – April seasonal full time hours. Normal operating hours for the business in season are 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday, Saturday 9am to 5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm. For this role there is flexibility available as the jobs needed to be completed by agreed dates, so for the right candidate the option to work flexible hours and outside normal operating hours (once probation is passed) is available.

We are a living wage employer. Pay is dependent on experience and starts from £18,000 up to £30,000 for a highly experienced person, per year pro-rata (working 9 months approx. per year)
