The Formula 88 is a ski that simply refuses to be put in a category. It lays down carving turns like no other ski Extrem have ever made. Or take it to the park, go for a few laps in the trees, zip through the moguls or whatever your imagination can come up with.
The secret sauce lies in the shape itself with an extremely short radius that has been combined with generous tip and tail rocker, and an 88mm waist. The flex is soft in the tip and tail to make the ski easy to handle at all speeds. The Titanal adds a 65mm wide metal strip underfoot to strengthen the flex, add some extra pop to the ski and add improve the edge grip.
All in all, the Formula 88 floats well in softer snow, carves like a dream on the groomers and is more fun than you can ever imagine. Fun. Yeah, we might have overdosed on using that word here. But then again, that’s what skiing’s really about isn't it?

Our Ski Tester's Ski Review for The Extrem Formula 88 2026 Skis
My own hooligan ski! If I am feeling up for some fun, and conditions are OK on the piste - changeable is fine - this ski is a rocket! Go long with this rather than short if you are between sizes, and be rewarded with the most unique ski experience out there at the moment thanks to the crazily short turn radius and a titanal core sandwich construction. It required effort and input, but rewards with huge, huge grins...

Extrem Ski Co - Sustainability as standard
Living in the mountains, Extrem get a first-hand view of the changes happening to our environment. But sustainability to Extrem Skis has never been about using fancy buzzwords to describe business practices; it’s about what they do every day to produce skis in a way that causes the least possible harm to the nature that surrounds us and to offer a safe and inclusive work environment for their employees. Coming from Jämtland in northern Sweden, bragging isn’t part of their DNA, they prefer sticking to cold, hard facts instead.
Skis built to last
Extrem use the thickest steel edges, bases and ABS sidewalls in the industry.
100% renewable energy
Northern Sweden uses 100% renewable and 100% fossil-free electricity. In fact, the cleanest in the world (app.electricitymaps.com)
Pre-preg construction
Extrem use pre-preg fiberglass and carbon fiber instead of liquid epoxy, which otherwise is the standard in the ski industry.
Minimal use of chemicals
Extrem always strive to keep their use of harmful chemicals to a minimum.
Waste management
They sort and compact all of their waste. It’s then collected by one of the best recycling and waste management companies in the world.
Bio-based and recycled materials
Extrem use bio-based and recycled materials when possible without compromising the quality of their skis.
• 100% recycled ABS sidewalls
• 50% recycled topsheets
• 26% recycled steel edges
Carbon footprint
One pair of Extrem Skis has a carbon footprint of 28,8 kg CO2, including production, waste management, transportation, and materials.
The world’s most sustainable ski production
All this means that Extrem Skis is, in fact, one of the most sustainable ski brands in the world. If not the most sustainable.
