The Extrem Project 90 ski is a playful true all-mountain ski that powerful carving turns when worked onto its edge across the piste, and yet offers float and compliance when needed in the powder.
Handmade in Are Sweden, Extrem is a sought after brand by those in the know, and both this 90mm waisted ski and the Extrem Project 83 skis are the current choice of our ski buyer and owner.
This is the all-mountain ski for you if you ride 80% on piste and 20% outside of it when the conditions call for it. This is a slightly narrower all mountain ski with a confident edge grip on the groomers, but still with a playful character and a quick transition from edge to edge. The Project 90 is created for the demanding and constantly changing conditions of our home mountain with hard but grippy groomers early winter, and soft slush later in spring.
The Project 90 is one of the true work horses in Extrem's range and is based on the highly successful Project 100. The foundation is an all mountain ski with a slight rocker in the tip and tail, but in a narrower version. This gives it a playful character with the option to alternate between carving and skidding turns depending on the conditions or the terrain. For us at The Skiers Lounge, 90mm is a perfect width for adventurous all-conditions skiers who want a one ski solution to allow them to go off-piste when the conditions are welcoming.
The hand laid core contruction features a wood core made from snappy poplar wood and stable, dampened, beech. The outstanding edge grip and torsional rigidity comes from two layers of full-width Titanal. Race rubber dampening minimizes vibrations.
What We Say
"Simply stunning skis for the powerful piste skier who wants total versatilty on piste in all conditions (we tested in rain!) but also wants to mess around off the sides. This ski in my eyes would suit any advanced/expert skier so a level 7-10 skier, who wants to be able to carve strongly even across choppy terrain and float on those powder days. The damping in the nose and tail is oustanding whilst not affecting the excellent edge hold when carving. The build quality of these skis is something to behold too, helped by only using the best materials and some unique options to make sure your skis not only run perfectly but last too.
I own a pair of these skis in a 179cm, I am 6ft tall. My ski is available to try subject to a deposit and terms & conditions so please visit the showroom or call us to discuss this further. And please look after them!"

FeaturesPoplar and Beech Wood Core Construction
The knot free, vertically laminated wood core of snappy poplar and stable beech gives a playful yet dampened character of the skis. Combining this with Titanal means performance, calmness and superior edge grip.
Titanal Laminate Layer
To increase performance in terms of superior edge grip and high-speed stability, Extrem add 0,4 mm Titanal to the construction. Titanal is the highest strength aluminium-alloy manufactured in an industrial standard process, originally developed for the aerospace industry. Titanal is a registred trademark, owned and produced by AMAG Austria Metall AG.
Race Rubber Dampening Tip and Tail
To minimise vibrations in hard snow conditions, such as icy slopes and wind packed off-piste, we use 1,5 mm race rubber dampening in the tip and tail from Austrian Haberkorn GmbH. Extrem further also use 0,2 mm rubberfoil in the skis to further strengthen the construction and increase durability between different materials.
Glass Fibre with Pre-Preg Epoxy Resin
We are quite unique to use dry Prepreg epoxy resins instead of letting our employees handle liquid epoxy when building skis, which is otherwise practice in the ski industry. Our glass fiber rolls come industrially impregnated with HexPly M78 from our supplier Hexcel, a world-leading producer of advanced composite material for the aerospace industry. This results in a dry, safe and great work environment for our ski builders and significantly increases the quality of the skis with more consistency through the length of the ski.
Austrian Manufactured Sintered 7515 Race Base
We all like to ski fast! Therefore, Extrem use highest quality Isospeed 7515 race bases from Austrian Isosport GmbH. These running bases are made of ultra-high density polyethylene with high quality graphite for best gliding properties in a wide range of conditions.
Extra Thick Steel Edges
For maximum durability of our skis, we purchase one piece steel edges from the well renowned Waelzholz GmbH, who have manufactured steel edges in Germany for over 50 years. We use their extra thick and durable Profile 132 that is 2,3 mm high and 2,2 mm wide for durability and longer life, allowing you to tune and reset edges frequently too.
Extra Wide ABS Racing Sidewalls
For maximum durability of our skis, Extrem use extra wide 8.5mm ID 2500 ABS sidewalls from Austrian Isosport GmbH compared to the ski industry standard width of 5-6mm.
Top Sheets
For best wear performance and abrasion resistance, Extrem use sublimated 0,55 mm Isocap ICP 8210 top sheets with structured surface from Austrian Isosport GmbH.
