Extrem Factory 102 ARS 2 2026 Skis

Season:2025/2026

Brand:Extrem Skis

Code:F102-ARS2

The Extrem Factory 102 BÖA A.R.S 2 is the most advanced ski technology that Extrem has ever created, taking learnings from the explosion of BOA across the ski industry, and creating a double dial adjustable ski offering the ultimate one quiver ski option.

Developed with input from leading freerider and Extrem brand ambassador Tom-Oliver Hedvall, and with input from ourselves at The Skiers Lounge, The award winning Factory 102 forms the foundations of this innovation in rocker technology. The A.R.S system, or Adjustable Rocker System, is tuned to each ski model and each ski length, and allows you to increase the rocker for freeride float performance, or lower it for outstanding all mountain carving.

This is the DOUBLE BÖA A.R.S version so you have 2 dials per ski allowing you to tune both the tip AND tail rocker.

The BÖA A.R.S.e App (For Apple and Android devices) developed by ourselves here at The Skiers Lounge as part of our input allows you to translate dial clicks to real world data, so you can see the exact rocker you have dialled in. You can then save the settings, giving you the opportunity to dial in your A.R.S for any resort, any conditions, or even different settings for one ski run, to help you find your sweet spot.

The ski is currently in final pre-production PROTOTYP colourway in the images, which we will update once the final design is released. We expect the first drop of these skis to be later in the year, and will keep anyone signed up posted.

BÖA A.R.S DUAL Dial System

This innovation in ski technology takes its lead from boot manufacturers using BOA and double BOA dials on the ski boots to offer the ultimate performance in an unbreakable form. The custom BÖAA.R.S dials use mylar sleeves with titanium braided threads for maximum durability and lightweight, which also helps to act as an anti damping system through resonance management. The system is gauranteed for 5 years against damage even if caused in a crash*

Poplar wood core

The knot free, vertically laminated wood of snappy poplar is a medium lightweight core that gives a playful character of the skis. Combined with Titanal the skis become stiffer and torsional rigid yet keep its playfulness. Without Titanal the skis are just super playful. A CNC-milled and integrated 55x650 mm wood plate of beech secures the mounting of the binding.

Titanal

To increase performance in terms of superior edge grip and high-speed stability, we add a thin strip of0,4 mm Titanal to the construction. Titanal is the highest strength aluminium-alloy manufactured in an industrial standard process, originally developed for the aerospace industry. Titanal is a registred trademark, owned and produced by AMAG Austria Metall AG.

Race rubber dampening

To minimize vibrations in hard snow conditions, such as icy slopes and wind packed off-piste, we use 1,5 mm race rubber dampening in the tip and tail from Austrian Semperit AG. We also use 0,2 mm rubberfoil in the skis to further strengthen the construction and increase bonding between different materials.

Prepreg glass fiber

We are quite unique to use dry Prepreg epoxy resins instead of letting our employees handle liquid epoxy when building skis, which is otherwise practice in the ski industry. Our glass fiber rolls come industrially impregnated with HexPly M78 from our supplier Hexcel, a world-leading producer of advanced composite material for the aerospace industry. This results in a dry, safe and great work environment for our ski builders and significantly increases the quality of the skis.

Austrian race base

We like to ski fast! Therefore, we use highest quality Isospeed 7515 race bases from Austrian Isosport GmbH. These running bases are made of ultra-high density polyethylene with high quality graphite for best gliding properties in a wide range of conditions.

Extra thick steel edges

For maximum durability of our skis, we purchase one piece steel edges from the well renowned Waelzholz GmbH, who have manufactured steel edges in Germany for over 50 years. We use their extra thick and durable Profile 132 that is 2,3 mm high and 2,2 mm wide for all models except Fusion 95 Carbon Ultra, where we use a 1,9 mm high and 1,5 mm wide edge to minimize weight. All our steel edges contain 26% recycled materials.

Extra wide ABS sidewall

For maximum durability of our skis, we use extra wide 8,5 mm ID 2500 ABS sidewalls from Austrian Isosport GmbH (compared to the ski industry standard width of 5-6 mm).

Top sheet

For best wear performance and abrasion resistance, we use sublimated 0,55 mm Isocap ICP 8210 top sheets with structured surface from Austrian Isosport GmbH.All our top sheets contain 50% bio-based materials.

*crash replacement warranty terms and conditions - in order to have a free replacement set of skis, as the BÖAA.R.S system cannot be repaired, we will need specific proof of the accident or circumstances that caused the incident leading to the skis to fail

Ski Buyers Guide

Buying a pair of skis doesn't need to be a daunting experience. When buying a pair of skis, there are a few simple pieces of information that will help you to find your perfect match. With the introduction of carving skis and new technology, ski length is based more on the user’s weight than the tradition of using your height. Combine this with your ski level and your aspirations and this will help narrow your choice very quickly. Follow these simple steps:

STEP 1 - ABILITY
Firstly choose your current skiing level from the list below:

1 - Never skied before
2 - I can stop with a snowplough
3 - I am doing snowplough turns, and the odd blue run
4 - I am starting to parallel ski and onto blue runs
5 - I am venturing onto reds, and starting to make step turns
6 - I am getting confident on reds, and maybe doing the odd black
7 - I am comfortable skiing most black runs
8 - I am confortable on ice, and venturing off-piste
9 - I am skiing off-piste aggresively, and carving across all pistes
10 - I am a professional experienced ski instructor or racer

Here at The Skiers Lounge we then brake this down into 4 groups:

  • NOVICE (Level 1 to 4)
  • INTERMEDIATE (Level 4-6)
  • ADVANCED (Level 6-8)
  • EXPERT (Level 8-9)
  • PROFESSIONAL (Level 10)

STEP 2 - TERRAIN
Now you know your skier level, you can decide where you will mainly be using your new skis:
  • - Groomed Piste Runs
  • - All snow conditions (From ice to slush)
  • - All mountain skiing conditions (piste and off-piste)
  • - Off-piste skiing (powder)
  • - Ski touring

STEP 3 - SKI LENGTH
For selecting the correct ski length, we take your ability, weight and where you will use the skis, and can calculate an approximate length:

Ski Length Chart

STEP 3 - FINAL ADJUSTMENT FOR SKILL LEVEL

The final calculation- For NOVICE skiers, this is your recommended length. For INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED skiers we recommend adding 5cm to the above measurement, and for EXPERT and PROFESSIONAL skiers you would normally add 10cm to the above length and a little more for freeride skis.

Choosing The Right Ski Length

STEP 1

  • All mountain skiing conditions (piste and off-piste)
  • Off-piste skiing (powder)
  • Ski touring

These 2 pieces of information will now quickly allow you to build a short list of skis to look at as potential new skis which will be perfect for you.

SKI LENGTH

For selecting the correct ski length, we take your ability, weight and where you will use the skis, and can calculate an approximate length:

FINAL CALCULATION - For NOVICE skiers, this is your recommended length. For INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED skiers we recommend adding 5cm to the above measurement, and for EXPERT and PROFESSIONAL skiers you would normally add 10cm to the above length

WHAT IS SKI ROCKER? Ski rocker is the biggest change in ski design since carving skis. A FULL rocker ski has the tip and the tail up in the air, much like you are standing in the centre of a banana:

Full Rocker Skis

These will be amazing in powder for float, but not as agile on piste. So designers combine rocker with traditional CAMBER to to produce skis that are more versatile depending on their intended use. Here is an example of 20% rocker or "tip rocker":

tip rocker ski

So as the tip (and sometimes tail) are not in contact with the snow, the effective side edge of the ski is shorter. The ski will still carve well, but this is the reason that we recommend using skis in this style a little longer. You won’t lose any control but you do gain more float when the snow is softer or in powder.
