What is Hestra's warmest ski glove or ski mitten? The Heli Extreme Mittens. Hestras most loved series the Army Leather Heli gets SERIOUSLY warm and understated with this extreme edition which features a G-Loft removeable liner and blacked out edition leather and logos.
The Army Leather Extreme is one of Hestra's warmest models, designed for severe cold and really tough weather. It has the same hardwearing outer as Hestra's other Army Leather models but extra strong high-function G-Loft insulation. Perfect in cold winter climates and for lower levels of activity, e.g. dog sledding, or snowmobile riding over long distances. The liner is removable and easy to dry or wash. Or replace with a thinner lining if the temperature or activity levels rise. The microfleece liner is comfortable against the skin, and the synthetic insulation adds warmth and wicks away moisture.
The model is designed to perform reliably with a high cuff that shuts out snow and cold. The snowlock is easily adjusted with one hand, as is the wrist width. A favourite with skiers, adventurers and other open-air professionals who spend long days outdoors in severe cold.
The understated look combined with this being a Alpine Pro model makes this suitable for all conditions both on and off the mountain where the warmest mittens are needed, whether skiing down the Saulire into Courchevel or commuting to work.

Guide to Sizing for Hestra Gloves and Mittens
Hestra make gloves, and no other clothing so their sizing runs very true using the traditional method of measuring the hand. Take a look at the size chart below to determine your size.
Tips from our years of experience selling these gloves:
- If between sizes on gloves and mittens round UP a size
- If between sizes on liners you can size DOWN for a closer yet still comfortable fit
- For FULL leather gloves, you will find these a much closer fit, leather will break in to personalise the fit, but we recommend still rounding up if between sizes or wanting a less snug fit to allow for glove liners, for example
- Hestra make UNISEX and WOMENS models. If you have long slender fingers, the women's range is optimised for this
Measuring your hand
Hestra measure by running a tape measure (or piece of string) round the circumference of your hand at the palm EXCLUDING your thumb - put your hand in front of you palm facing you, and measure round the hand with your thumb out of the way at a right angle. This measurement, the girth of your hand, in inches, is your Hestra glove size. For example 8" is a size 8 glove. You can further refine your size by measuring your longest finger from the base of the palm to the tip of the longest finger.
